Server Security
Antinuke, AutoMod, chat filters, verification - the layers that keep a raid or a rogue admin from ending your server.
Replace [prefix] with your server's prefix.
Security in serenity is four separate layers, and they answer four different questions: who gets in, what they can post, what your staff can do with their permissions, and what happens when someone with real power turns on you.
None of them are on by default.
The Layers
Antinuke
Watches for mass channel, role, webhook and emoji destruction - and for the admin doing it. Bans, kicks or strips them mid-nuke.
AutoMod
Filters what members post: spam, banned words, Discord invites and join raids.
Smart ChatFilter
A stricter content filter for the channels where the normal rules aren't enough.
Verification
Make members clear a challenge before they get into the server at all.
Fake Permissions
Let moderators moderate through serenity without ever holding the real Discord permission.
Which One Do You Need
| The worry | The answer |
|---|---|
| An admin or a compromised bot wipes the server | Antinuke |
| Members post spam, slurs or Discord invites | AutoMod |
| A raid of throwaway accounts walks straight in | Verification and Antinuke Gate |
| Your moderators need Ban Members and you'd rather they didn't | Fake Permissions |
serenity can only punish a member whose highest role sits below its own. Keep serenity's role at the top of your role list, or an attacker holding a higher role is out of reach no matter how Antinuke is configured.
Set the whole thing up before you need it. Every module here is preventative; none of them can undo damage that happened while they were off.
