Jail Module

Learn to setup Serenity's jail module for your server.

Replace [prefix] with your server's prefix.

Initial Setup and Information

To setup the jail module, run the command [prefix]setjail.

By running this command will create two things:

  1. #jail-serenity channel
  2. @jail role.
  • The #jail-serenity channel can not be access by users, other then members with administrator permissions or users who are jailed. To allow more users to see it, such as moderates, adjust the channel permissions manually.
  • The @jail role should only be added to jailed members. You should never have to add it manually.

Category and channel overrides will be created for every category denying the View Channel permission for the jailed role. This is essential for the jail module to function correctly.

To unsetup the jail module, run the command [prefix]unsetjail.

Command Functions

  1. To jail a member, use the command [prefix]jail [member].

Using this command will remove all roles from a member (that the bot can manage) and add the jailed role to them. Doing this will only allow them to see the jailed channel.

  1. Use [prefix]unjail [member] to unjail a member.

All roles will be restored to the previously jailed member and they will no longer be able to see the jail channel.

  1. View the list of members who are jailed by using the command [prefix]jaillist.
